HISTORY

HOW DID IT ALL START?

Sotera Digital Security ("Sotera") was founded in the US in 2017 by a team of industry-leading mobile security experts. It has revolutionized mobile security for both public and private sector organizations and individuals requiring communications that leave zero-doubt when it comes to mobile phone security and privacy. This has been no mean feat. Indeed, it took Sotera five years to develop what is now the world’s only mobile phone to unreservedly claim that its product is 100% secure, with zero vulnerabilities.

The Sotera SecurePhone was developed bottom-up and top-down in response to real-world critical situations faced by the US Government.

Even today, to make a private and secure call, certain departments of US government officials need to use modems connected to a gutted phone — a method that is 20 years old and precarious over time.

From witnessing how cumbersome it was to make just one single secure call came the idea for The Sotera SecurePhone.

In today’s world, where communication via mobile devices is the norm and often used for mission-critical or highly confidential calls and texts, and with ever-evolving hackers and intruders adapting techniques to exploit our reliance and mobile vulnerabilities, he realized that the lack of a 100% secure mobile phone was nothing short of crazy.

DID YOU KNOW?

In Verizon’s Mobile Security Index report 2022 found that 45% of companies surveyed suffered a mobile-related compromise, up from 20% in 2018.
The world is changing: When two of the largest financial consulting firms make it a corporate policy to not take corporate phones into Hong Kong, China, or other similar areas of the globe it becomes the market standard. (as referenced in Financial Times Digest, “Deloitte and KPMG ask staff to use burner phones for Hong Kong trips”, 11/27/23)
And yet 53% of mobile devices have access to more sensitive data than in the previous year.

FAST-MOVING TECH DEVELOPMENTS ARE AND WILL CONTINUE TO EXASPERATE THE SITUATION…

AI and mobile operating system companies, including WhatsApp and Signal, do not effectively enhance the security of your calls and phones, potentially leaving them more vulnerable.

THE WORLD IS CHANGING

If not traveling with your corporate phone in certain areas of the world is now the market standard, every company needs to decide how it wants to protect its clients, employees, and/or shareholders.

WHAT IS THE ANSWER?

We are the answer — embodied in the Sotera SecurePhone. In the realm of digital security, where every byte of data matters, our device takes the spotlight as a comprehensive solution. The limitations of mainstream options become apparent when considering commercial phones and messaging applications like WhatsApp, which predominantly secure a single layer of your digital realm. Even the seemingly convenient burner phones fall short when it comes to safeguarding your most sensitive data and communications.

The Sotera SecurePhone sets itself apart by providing a holistic approach to security, fortifying not just one, but all three critical layers: applications, operating system, and hardware. In a landscape where claims of security abound, our device distinguishes itself by delivering on the promise at every level.

With the Sotera SecurePhone, however, adopting an "avoidance of failures" IS a reality.

Communications between Sotera-to-Sotera SecurePhones do not come with a "it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when" disclaimer. Quite the opposite, in fact. With the Sotera SecurePhone, It’s not a matter of if; it’s a matter of never.
